Margery Clinton lustre ware
I got this piece at the antique fair in Edinburgh last week :) Lovely and unusual for Margery, I've seen a lot of weird shapes and abstract designs. This one however is simple but very well done Dove of Piece, reduction glaze on porcelain. 6 5/8'' tall, marked to the base with the signature very similar to the other item I now have confirmed as Margery clinton: https://www.20thcenturyforum.com/t13984-studio-pottery-lamp-base I have confirmed it wit the collector in Edinburgh, for reference just type in: The Complete Potter: Lustres by Margery Clinton. The picture on the title page is the same as the lamp base

That's brilliant Charlie, thank you for sharing. That's probably the shape from The Complete Potter's title page

Thanks Philpot. This one is very plain but some of her pots are absolutely gorgeous.

Re: Margery Clinton lustre ware
As always Naomi is right. A terrific Scottish potter who did a large amount of lustre work. She died in 2005. This is typical of her work, and she did a lot of these small pieces.

Two Margery Clinton pots - 1980s
Here are two pots made by Margery Clinton, owned by my mum. My mum Joan Faithfull took up using lustre glazes in the early 1980s, and I'm pretty sure that Margery Clinton was the influence that started her on this path. she bought these pots around that time.
The information on the pot bases is very detailed: dates to the day, and one pot even has two dates, plus other marks: separate firings + other info??
They seem hard to photograph - the lustre glazes seem hard to capture. But the pix give a vague idea of what the pots are like!
