Re: Whitefriars Glass: Post-1960
Thank you, yes it is 22cms tall, is there any way of telling when this may have been produced and what sort of numbers were made?

Unfortunately with the pink colourway it would be impossible to say how many were made, as for the age of it, could be anywhere between 1938 and 78 the period for flat, polished bases, footed swans were introduced in 1978 until 1980.

Leg of Mutton
A rare piece, only ever found one way back. People have the fancifull notion that these were produced by swinging them around in the air!
A factory worker told me years ago, they were made by taking the squatter 9651 vase, and stretching it by using a gentle "pendulum"
motion. In the factory they were known as "Leg of mutton" vases.
WHITEFRIARS ICICLE M160
Looking in the 1974 Whitefriars catalogue, I found the cat. no. M160 'Icicle' glass range. Trying to locate this glass, which looks like a small flute or sherry glass (Height: 6 3/4") but doesn't seem to be listed. Is this in fact an Icicle glass? Any help... Thanks! No idea why these images are sideways??

Of course... don't know how I missed that. Would have made more sense to group all of the 'Icicle' pattern together. Thanks

Thanks! I couldn’t have found it myself.denbydump wrote:The ruby jug appears to be 9470, from the 1957 catalogue.
The page with the jugs is missing from the 1957 online catalogue. That jug is also in the 1960’s catalogue but with no number.

Not sure which catalogue link you are using but a few extra ones here that were not on the old .com and .org sites

Re: Whitefriars Glass: Post-1960
I would say 100% correct.
The paper label on the base would read 9691 which is the model number for your vase.
It was put on at the factory and has survived the ravages of time.
Nice item
