The L looks like the leach type face. Very unusual.

I wondered if it was an unrecorded David Leach mark. Closest I could find was David Lawson’s mark, but no mention of either of them potting at Wenford Bridge. Dawn Lesh was an apprentice there but I think in her mark the DL letters were separate

In my marks book, there is a David Leach mark where the D is joined to the L, but could not find any examples online.

The only others that have similar marks that I know of are Peter Lane, Dennis Lane and Peta Larsen.

The odds pretty much are that it is David Leach. Wenford Bridge was than an an hours drive or from Lowerdown. So he probably visited a fair amount.

There were many apprentices working at Wenford Bridge in the 1970s and later on people, who actually paid to work there. Many weren't from the UK.
I have no idea whose mark it is except to say that I am not convinced by any of the suggestions above.
