Studio pottery figurines, DA mark Empty Studio pottery figurines, DA mark

Spotted these today. Bought one of them. Marked with a DA. Seller had found lots of them in a house clearance but didn’t know the potter. He didn’t think the householder had made them.

Very cool, I would have purchased a one or two. They're not supposed to be based on chess pieces are they?

I suggested that to the dealer but he said each piece was a one off so it was unlikely. Although I think the seated king and queen are copies of the Lewes Chess Pieces. The oriental figures are probably copies of Chinese 'mud-men' or Japanese Kutani figures
