The bowl looks salt glazed. The lower case M looks very similar to the mark used by Micki Schloessingk. She does wood fired salt glaze pottery at her pottery in South Wales. Judge the yourself.

The only other potter who uses a small m like this is the early work of the late Mary Rich. But she never did salt glaze work.

It’s one of our long term mystery marks. The long middle downward stroke of the M rules out potters like Rich and Schloessingk. Closest I’ve found in the Marks book is Marjorie Hengeveld but need a verified example to be certain

Thank you
Thankyou Philpot and NaomiM
Whilst I can see similarities in the style of the work to Schloessingk I think the mark is too different from hers. I’ll have a look at what I can find on Marjorie Hengeveld and see what I can find.
