Lamp Base in the style of Bernard Rooke......
Hi all
I seem to remember that we bought this lamp base in an auction job lot several years ago. It looks like its in the style of Bernard Rooke but there's no signature and whilst the style in similar, after trawling through many sites, I cannot find the exact pattern anywhere else. Does anyone recognise this as his please?

Nice piece. Rooke is possible or it might be Simonsbath Pottery which had links with Quantock Designs

Quantock pottery might be a good bet. What you are looking for is a studio pottery that produced a fair amount of commercial work. Individual studio potters did not really do lamp bases. They are the sort of thing you would see for for sale in top end furniture and gift shops. The design look quite 60's/70s. While Bernard Rooke and his family are a definite possibility. They were very commercial and produced a lot of stuff. The design does look unusual for them.
