Info On Bretby Unglazed Sculpture Pleae
Hello ( and thanks for allowing me to join the forum )
At a recent auction I purchased a number of Bretby Pottery items, including vases and a parrot. What caught my eye though was an unglazed terracotta type finish to a super study of a young boy sat on a stone plinth. I have not been able to find its like anywhere and wonder if anyone can help with any information. It carries the full Bretby logo, Made In England and pattern number 3410 to the inside of the base.
Many thanks

Re: Info On Bretby Unglazed Sculpture Pleae
It would date to approx 1933/34. Can't say I have seen this model, and no reference
in the book, but usually their figures were glazed, so it maybe unfinished, unless it
was an attempt at mimicing "Parian ware".
