Half filled potters / pottery DE mark - David Eeles
Good afternoon fellow enthusiasts.
I have exhausted my limited capabilities so it’s over to you if you could possibly help identify the maker.
I bought it at auction. There were 3 items in the lot, the other two items were a teapot by David Leach and a bowl by Katherine Pleydell-Bouverie.
It was catalogued as Lowerdown but that was dismissed before I bought the lot.
I thought the mark was capital D with an L bisecting the D but I can’t find anything which would fit including looking through over 20 pages of the BISPM.
I hope someone will recognise the style and after telling me the mark the mists will clear and be so obvious!!

Far too quick you are lady - makes me feel inadequate but I have heard of him and I thought someone would recognise the style and you did. Those years haven’t been wasted Naomi and Thank you……again. Makes sense - what I thought was an L was an E I think!

Eeles Pottery decoration is very distinctive. You almost don't need a mark except to distinguish between the family members potting there

It is strange - clearly talented and I can appreciate the work but not for my taste. I have looked at a few pieces - I knew you were correct and I found a jug with similar decoration but not quite as detailed.
I’ve bought a couple of lots recently with several pieces in but really only because of one piece - always interesting to see what else is uncovered!!
Easier for you because you would have known!
