Kupittaan Savi, Turku (Finland). Empty Kupittaan Savi, Turku (Finland).

33cm ht. Made in Finland but have never been able to read the maker's
name. It looks something like an MARGIES but difficult to make out. Any
ideas anyone? Thanks

Have you tried talcing the base? Maybe it will help read the name better.

Thanks for the tip - with talc the second letter looks like a W or M and the penultimate looks like a G but the rest is still not distinct, although the first could possibly be an A. Have tried paper and ink or blue tag to little avail.

Hi,

Your vase is made by Kupittaan Savi in Turku (Åbo in Swedish), Finland.

Probably in the 1930ies or 1940ies.
