Thoughts welcomed on this piece. I believe it's 17th century,  Chinese. The floral decoration has me a little baffled, I have no idea what the flower is.

Moved to ID My Pottery; the other areas are our reference database for identified items

I can’t tell if it’s Chinese or Japanese, tbh. It might be Japanese copying Chinese

Thanks you for moving it and for your feedback Naomi.
I'd not considered that possibility. Hopefully there's someone out there that can confirm its country of origin.

Just to update, it is Chinese, Kangxi period and very rare.
Not the most desirable of decoration, but a nice find that was boxed up and living in my attic for the last 10 years.

Suprised at the lack of feedback on here (Naomi asides), maybe there's not as many "experts" trawling these boards as I thought there were.

Nice find Most Excellent

Few members collect Chinese or Japanese wares. It's a specialist subject.
