I have an oil painting which is clearly signed Jonathan H and with a symbol (not sure what this symbol is and would also like to
find out if anyone knows that this means?) can anyone please help my identify the full name of the artist.

There was a Jonathan Hargreaves on Landscape Artist of the Year 2017, but I don’t know what his signature looks like

I have looked through the 2nd edition of "Artists in Britain since 1945" by David Buckman, which is the most comprehensive survey of artists working in that period with around 14,500 entries.

There are 5 artists with surnames starting with H and Jonathan as a first name. However, none of them match the style of your painting.
