HD mark, David Hewitt - Berry Bowl? Empty HD mark, David Hewitt - Berry Bowl?

Hello, I wondered if anyone knew the maker of this piece or what its use might be? My first thought was some sort of half flower frog planter, but then the glaze inside seems to nice to cover, so thinking it may a berry bowl, as you can drain with the holes at the side. The mark on the base looks like a P with H inside it, handwritten...
