For me it's interesting to see things that you wouldn't normally see in this type of Museum/Art Gallery collection but I wonder when it was donated?
I say that because many collectors that I know have found it very difficult to donate pots by much more famous names to Museums and Art Gallery in the last 10 years.

As you say studio-pots, the type of pottery illustrated in the link above while interesting would be rejected by most museums, most museums are already stuffed and will only consider items of 'outstanding interest or merit',.

I'm guessing most museums don't regard studio pottery as sexy or important ATM,
though that might change when and if they see the stellar prices some is making.
