Antique Japanese Frame

Any ideas what this antique frame is made from? Metal appears lighter in colour on the reverse. It has MADE IN JAPAN stamped on the reverse plate and original blue background. Also, how old will it be? Thanks.

The Japanese often used antimony, plated with copper or silver.
