I hope these miniatures are more in keeping with the rules .
These are signed E M Burgess 1917. For Eliza Mary Burgess ,born Walthamstow England 1878,
She was a member of many different academies ,to many to mention.
she was said to have painted miniatures for the queen mothers doll house (one of the most famous dolls houses in the world)
The date 1917 is interesting during the war. At this time female artist's started a revival,as miniature painting was in a decline due to photography.
They may be mother and daughter (same date) it is said she painted for the Scottish aristocracy .
Timber case made by myself. Australian blackwood timber ,brass.
Regards rabbit.

Re: Eliza Mary Burgess
Hello Naomi
Many thanks for your support and comments ,we all have our own tastes in art, it is a very personal thing.
it seems today anything is art weather skillfully done or done by a drunk or a drug crazed addict.
I am thinking of becoming an artist (problem is I do not drink or take drugs)
I feel Michelangelo, one of the best artists in history, would be rolling in his grave,if he knew what they were calling art today.
Regards rabbit
