Large bowl with obscure pattern? Empty Large bowl with obscure pattern?

This huge cream bowl/plate has me baffled - I can’t make out what the brown design which appears to be trailed over the cream ground is meant to be? I can maybe make out a windmill near the top with a road leading to it, but the rest is just a mess. Has anyone come across anything similar before?

A man with a beard?
It looks like a professionally made plate, but the decorator may have been down the pub!

Completely agree with the pub idea, it reminds me of the experiments giving spiders caffeine and then seeing what happens to their webs!

In the first picture, given the windmill clue, I see a pathway leading up to it, with the foreground showing separate cobbles, and a fence to the righthand side. The windmill is shown in a landscape of low hills or banks. There is perhaps a stream and a millpond at the foot of the mill. I don't know what the fried eggs lower left would be (unless they are flowers), or the busy stuff by the windmill, unless that was perhaps another building. Could the brown stuff that provides the lines and looks like chocolate vermicelli, have flaked off at all? If so something may be gained by joining the dots and dashes.

Thank you very much - I think you’re right, there’s a sort of landscape thing going on. No, the brown stuff is exactly as made, it seems to be erupting through the cream glaze 😮 and is rather messy but no flaking.

There are several places where the lines have broken or slipped so I think the reason it looks a bit confusing is because the slip ware lines slipped and fragmented during firing

That makes complete sense - I’m not sure why it was strung for wall hanging when it looks like a plate if brown spaghetti!

It looks well thrown. Maybe someone threw it and someone else practiced their tube lining
