Dartington Pottery Vase, unusual pattern, Tchalenko? Empty Dartington Pottery Vase, unusual pattern, Tchalenko?

Squared thrown vase with unusual pattern .
I found one other that had been auctioned and identified as Tchalenko.
Is that right and is there a name?
Light blues, red and Sandy yellow colours. Dart mark
Thank you!

It's not in the Tchalenko book, but she used those colours, and that shape of vase at Dartington, so probably yes.

Not sure what the "Tchalenko" suggestion is suppose to mean. Not that she might have decorated it, I assume?

She did decorate pots at Dartington but generally, she came up with designs for the paintresses

There is a Grayshott design that has a similar red square; it might be something new; post-merger with Grayshott Pottery

I wasn't arguing with what you said DD just the "auctioned and identified as Tchalenko", which suggested that it might be of more value than any other Dart Pottery vase/beaker with a similar pattern. Just because she might have said "let's uses these colours with an abstract pattern similar to this".

The Tchalenko attribution purely means that the auction from which the result was obtained did not know a lot of what he was talking about or was trying to sell it up for more than what it was! Laughter

Yes, I see plenty of that on eBay and mis-attributions. I really try to be accurate with descriptions as there’s trouble if I’m not! and I want people who buy the pots to be genuinely happy with what they’ve bought. Seems pretty likely that it was a pattern used very little that didn’t take off. For whatever reason.
