ges. gesch., short for gesetzlich geschützt, means that the decor or the form is patented. It literally means "registred by law".

Elegant old style vase

Post by mr paige on April 3rd 2008, 8:56 pm

185 over 33 white clay, D&B?
One of my fave's - it's a good old size for this style.

Extra info from Volker:

D&B, looks like, i agree,
but the possible explanation sounds weird

D&B introduced a new numberiing system post 1955
the old form number 985 may have been changed to 185

Some of you will certainly know the following examples.
This is not a guessing game. I could prove it

vases 100
1302 ---> new 102
1358 ---> new 158
1294 ---> new 194
jugs 300
1334 --> new 334
1340 --> new 340
boxes 900
1288 --> new 988
