Looks like a DP mark rather than Pearson’s CP mark. Not Pearson, imo.

Not like anything that Colin made throughout his long career.

Thanks for that, both, on closer examination I agree th3 resemblance to Colin Pearson’s mark is superficial and as you say it doesn’t look right. I’ll take a look at Cooper pottery.
It’s an odd one, well made in a very functional style but not at all a functional finish, it’s very difficult to clean!

Peter Starkey at Dartington had a similar mark

That’s great, thank you! You’re right, the mark is the same - I assume it’s a DP for Dartington Pottery. I’ll dig out the pots and do a bit more research.

Dart/Dartington pottery was always a sharp triangle with a cross. Arrowhead or Dart shape. Nothing like that circular shape.

I’ll have to track down the attribution. Peter Starkey was at the early Dartington Workshop. But Paul Stubbs at Dove Craft Centre might be possible.
I double checked and the Pinterest mark is Peter Starkey at the Dartington Training Workshop in the 70s. Whether the pedestal bowl mark is also Dartington Workshop or it’s just a coincidence that the mark is similar is another question. Certainly looks 1970s in style but Starkey’s Dartington mark is square where as this one is round and stamped on a ball of clay
