Chinese eggshell porcelain, Mikawachi ware
Extremely thin and lightweight porcelain. Originally called Hirado porcelain, and after 1900 called Mikawachi ware. Handpainted decoration. Very popular in the West in the 60s-70s but due to their fragility they had to be transported in their own fitted boxes which made them less cost effective to thicker porcelain that could be stacked in straw 20-deep.
This one dates to around the 1970s
