anybody here who knows about Venetian mirrors

against my better judgment I bought this mirror yesterday and immediately had to build a DIY wood crate for it

it is well-constructed but there is no gold leaf in the glass and it is not an ancient piece

It was the kind of thing that well off ladies of a certain age, often American or European, used to love when I had a unit in a large antique centre in London in the 1990s. I don't know if that's still the case.

I think you did well to trust your gut, no they're not AS popular as they once were, the more plain versions have become the most sought after however it is a genuine piece of hand crafted Venetian Art Glass. Recognised as quality the world over, pieces like this will always be worth something.
