Unusual Glass Beaker Incased In A Metal Frame Empty Unusual Glass Beaker Incased In A Metal Frame

Does anyone know what this is? it's blown glass that's incased in a metal frame,, looks like the glass has been blown in the frame as the glass is bulging out of the holes and is locked in not removable,, there is no makers marks,, the metal is a shiney plated over brass non magnetic.
