SALT GLAZED STUDIO POTTERY JUG - Westerwald?  Empty SALT GLAZED STUDIO POTTERY JUG - Westerwald?

A nicely thrown salt glazed stoneware jug with 'tribal' influenced decoration. I thought that it could be Abuja, but not sure. there could be a makers mark below base of handle, but indistinct. H: 6 1/2". Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

Don't think it's a makers mark... Just continuation of incised pattern through the handle. I see what you mean about German, I've seen this kind of decoration on African clay pots... An odd mix??
