Is This Orrefors, Strombergshuttan or Whitefriars?
Hi,
I have this unsigned vase that looks very much like it is part of the Dusk series designed by Nils Landberg. It is quite heavy, well finished on the bottom and of very good quality, but I would expect Orrefors to always be signed. I think that Strombergshyttan did some similar product, so I'm wondering if this might be by them or someone else. Any opinions?
Thanks!
Ron

Looks very Whitefriars to me Ron though I've not seen a squeezed flat 4 lobe before. Have you been through the catalogues?

No I haven't - didn't consider Whitefriars, but I'll take a look around. Are the catalogs easily accessible online?
Thanks for the help,
Ron

RVsaid,
Thanks again, I see the catalogs just by Googling. I'm looking at 1966 now, and I do see what you're saying. Unfortunate that it's in black and white. I'll keep on going in hopes of finding an exact match

I haven't found an exact match, but did see what appear to be flatter models, but with controlled bubbles. Definitely must be Whitefriars though as far as I can make out.

I've been through the books, and can't see this one, but I would agree it has all the
hallmarks of being Whitefriars, particularly the base.
Maybe a one-off/trial?

Hi Dennydump,
Who knows? It would be nice if it were a trial piece, but difficult to prove or ascertain that. I guess that you'd have to be a Whitefriars expert (which I definitely am not).
Thanks for commenting!
