I like that. Have you just got it Dan? Its funny really, comparing the popularity of Troika and Celtic. I find Celtic much more attractive than Troika Celtic seems to be more romantic, warm and felt with the heart Troika seems to be that much cold and cerebral. Still, we all know which is the more expensive!

it amazes me that such a rare and lovely dish didn't attract more bids last January and sold for a measly £15.00

An example of a ‘rare but unfashionable’ piece

speaking of rare and unfashionable
Here is the label used by Maggie after she wound up Celtic pottery and set up Sunset ceramics.
The items produced are generally without merit and could not be considered collectables

Can anyone help me identify the date on a coffee set with tray which has a gold label for Celtic Pottery. It’s a shame I can’t upload or link you to the photos. The tray is round and black, 2 mugs, milk jug and sugar basin. Colours of black, green, cream. Not seen it anywhere on internet. I know Jim and Maggie we’re together in the early days but have a feeling it maybe later. Any help be fab. Thanks.

Hi there. I always had a feeling this more monochrome palette was earlier.
I think there may have been a small coffee pot with the set though.

I’ve had this for over 10 years and no coffee pot when it was taken out of the box, which is a shame. I have a few more of the later pieces (Orange/black) in a box somewhere but I don’t think the coffee pot is there.  Would the set be early 1960s? Any ideas on value? Has wear and two small chips.

It is prone to chipping with the soft clay they used.
Dan will maybe be able to give a more accurate date,
but sorry we don't enter into valuations

Found these in my box, but no coffee pot of the set above which is a shame. Still nice items. Not my style though. Good to read about them on this site. [url=https://servimg.com/view/20232939/2]Celtic (Newlyn & Mousehole) - Page 18 B23c1d10[/url

Yes seen quite a few cats. Love the eyes. Shop keepers always put the price label on the front of items, makes me crazy. End up with a labels marks after a while.
