Lydia Barge Empty Lydia Barge

Post by Timo February 28th 2021, 6:28 pm

My first post on this site.
I have had this vase for many years now and would love to know a little bit more about it.
I don't have many pottery reference books and could not find any information on the net.
hopefully someone will look in with some input.
The vase is 142 mm high, 55mm at the base and 125mm at the top.
Thanks in anticipation,

I have found a few Lydia Barge auction results and completed sales but nothing more. Potting in the 50s-60s

No, I was going through some old photo albums so I thought I’d add it to the thread

A jug here signed both by Lydia Barge and Gerard Quail, a Glasgow-based potter  and writer on ceramics:

And a mention of her here, as making vases for the altar at  the Robin Chapel in Edinburgh:

...and the mention of Rhu leads to this article about her father, which fills in a bit of background though Lydia is only mentioned in passing.
