Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
Gotta be a good time to sell good quality items. When people get bad news they want nice things to arrive to cheer them up. What better than a pot or two?
That's my theory - high quality items will fly now we are in lockdown2. Plenty of people still have money to spend.

It happened for me during Lockdown 1, after the initial panic period, but the novelty of lockdown buying might have worn off.
Black Market vaccine anyone?

LOCKDOWN THE SEQUEL...
Staring Boris the Buffoon.
Hancock the hesitant.
Williamson the Wanker'
and introducing a new face of Suhnak the Saint.
Supported by a motley D class of incompetent, impotent, insignificant Boris boosters..
Stay glued your Sofas.....

Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
The first lockdown was a novelty. That all in it together community feeling genuinely empowered many people. They found that they had spare money, and treated themselves when in a good frame of mind.
This 3rd lockdown is completely different. There is a sour, angry, scared, depressive mood about the whole situation. People are a lot more depressed and downbeat. Feeling a lot more financially threatened. By the end of this lockdown, it will have been a full year of this. Then it will be, What of the Future?

Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
This time it’s Winter, a time when many people are naturally suffering from sunshine deficiency, and now they have financial worries on top, and can’t see family and friends. It’s only the promise of vaccination that’s keeping people’s spirits up, but for many of us it’ll be the end of the year or next year before we get it.

I still say that there are plenty of well of off types who still have two good jobs in the city and would have gone skiing this time of year and have plenty of spare cash to buy things to cheer themselves up.
Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
I shall probably start up again soon and test the waters and report back. You could well be correct, Crawford.

Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
Well off people are saving tons of money as they don't take x8 holidays a year to Bali, Syngapore etc No big parties, eating out less, no need for new outfit for Henley or Ascot. No concerts. Can't go the the Theatre or the Ballet or even Glyndebourne (do you start to get my meaning). No new car as don't drive much. Working from home - no need for First Class tickets to the office. It's the poor who are suffering.
Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
Bali? Ballet?Opera? Theatre? Arscot? My Crawford you London do live a wildly extravagant life!
Back to the subject at hand. Are people treating themselves to pottery on Ebay? I sold a bit at Xmas, all smaller items. I did not get huge prices although I got rid of most of it. Fairly decent but not astounding stuff. But I certainly would not say the market was on Fire.

Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
Well off people are not necessarily pot buyers.... I would have a lot more savings (correction; I would have SOME savings) if i didn't buy pots

Not me Phil bet there are plenty of people who live that lifestyle. What are a few pots to them instead of their annual champagne picnic at Royal Ascot.
Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
Ive sold two paintings allready this year 1450€ and 2500€ but the gallery gets half , still not bad
Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
Not bad indeed. It does seem to following what I found last year that it was much better for selling more expensive things than cheaper items.

Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
See there is another cheap £1 final selling fee invitation day on Ebay today. A lot of the more expensive items listed. A good deal of them at ludicrous prices

Re: Sell Sell Sell Lockdown 2
this is not like selling on a secondary market, the gallery owner has a spiel about why I'm selling so cheap, compared to artists in other gallerysstudio-pots wrote:Not bad indeed.
