Inherited two identical jugs. one has an ID stamp on the base, the other larger one has no ID mark. The smaller jug is 300g in weight, very light. The ID stamp mark has two digits, could be S8, S3, 53, very difficult to tell. Photos are of smaller jug. Anyone know the manufacturer or age? ThanksID on jug; 19thC Staffordshire 16083010

Probably early/mid 19thC, probably Staffordshire.
Probably would have been a graduated set of 3,
and the number on the bottom is possibly the size or shape code.

The numbered tablet on the bottom is similar to those on Naomi's commemorative Minton jugs posted in BritishPottery the other day. Was this a device used by many 19thC potteries?

I've seen this mark or a very similar one on here before but it wasn't recently. I remember the item being part bisque or parian. Unfortunetly the item was not identified.
