Can anyone tell me anything about this? It's completely flat so I'm guessing it's a teapot stand, or something similar.

There's something a little similar on German eBay - says c.1900s, €160!
No useful information though.

What is it? There's a few similar on German ebay but they are all bigger than mine, usually with a white metal edge, and say Jugendstil/art nouveau tray c.1900.
Mine is smaller, 18.5cm diameter.

I think they usually get called cake plates.

I suppose a single person cake or pastry might look good on it. Maybe it was something that they had in coffee houses, back in the day.
