hi all
Picked up this jug the other day. Marks are very difficult to photograph and even make out with the naked eye due to being under the glaze, you have to get it just at the right angle but I think the first seal is Winchcombe? The jug certainly has the right look... The second seal is a mystery though, as it's just an "S" which i haven't been able to find online anywhere. The S is central to the mark so doesn't look like there is room for a "T" next to it for Sydney Tustin.
Any ideas?
thanks!

Not sure if the first mark is the Winchcombe mark. Can we see an image of the jug please, as that would help?

The glazes don't really look "Winchcombe".

Looking at the mark that you think is Winchcombe, might it be a J and K joined?

Hi studio-pots
I can't really see that, but it could be a J and an R back to back i suppose. If you look at the first image (but in the second post where i got it the right way up!) and move your eye line up/down and left/right to the screen, so the contrast changes, i think you might make out the WP?... while looking a bit mad! I've outlined what i think i can see below - see if you agree comparing the two...

Interesting, Denbydump!! Certainly looks very similar with the S too... the TP mark would be upside down in my instance, but i guess that's possible!

It could be Jack's but we never saw the jug, which would have helped a great deal.

For all the time that I knew him, he only used an S mark and no other. However, I did pick up something since the original post with both marks + a sticky label. That suggested when he used the JK mark he called himself Jonathan Kenny. I will see if I can dig the piece out.
