Re: Henry Hammond? Found in U.S.A.
The decoration looks a bit like that of someone trained at Aldermaston Pottery. The M with the bar above maybe Miranda Thomas Shackleton who’s now in Vermont. I’ll investigate further

I wonder about LAURENCE MCGOWAN. His mark on https://www.themarksproject.org/marks/mcgowan has some similarities, but it's drawn or brushed on, not stamped. And his bird pieces have some similarities, I thought.

Lawrence Mcgowan does not use an impressed mark. They are all painted, usually with a year mark. They all have similarities because they all trained at Aldermaston pottery under Alan Caiger Smith. The style of this piece is very similar to decoration used at Aldermaston. There are literally dozens of Aldermaston influenced potters. It ran for 30 years with often up to 8 potters working there at one time.
The bar H actually looks very similar to the mark used by Honor Hussey, another British potter. But the second mark does not look like one she used.
It is definitely not Henry Hammond.

Thank you, Philpot. Very helpful. Do you believe it to be an Aldermaston piece, in any case?

It’s not Aldermaston because they always used a written mark rather than stamps, however it is likely to be by a potter who trained at Aldermaston before setting up their own studio due to the similarities in the decoration. I think Miranda Thomas Shackleton in Vermont is the best lead but I haven’t matched the mark. Simon Pearce was potting with her for a time and decorating in the Aldermaston style
