I picked this figurine today hoping it is Bitossi but I am concerned that there are no marks and have found no others in this colour. Wondering if there are fakes around or if the molds were sold. It measures 17 cm long which seems correct. Bitossi Porcupine fake or real  Img_0311

Looks real. There are a few this colour on Google. Possibly 1960s. The later ones are stamped on the base, where as the earlier ones would have Italy and a number written on the base of it was exported, but nothing written in it for domestic sales

Thanks NaomiM. I feel good about it and your explanation makes sense. I did not find any in this colour in my search but will look some more.

Indicates it’s earlier; c.1960s. The later ones are molded. Although this one looks as though the two halves were pushed into a mould before being joined to get the basic shape before being hand decorated
