Just got this nice Imari Cat
I do like this one , as has loads of covering and good hand painted detail.
Date marks are vintage 1980s.

They are still being made. Sometimes listed as Chinese Canton, others as Japanese Imari. I think the 19thC Meiji ones are Imari but later copied ones from Canton, but could be wrong .

Tbh i picked it up while browsing a local second hand store. Even though not that old, i liked the bright colours.  

Problem now is where to put it all ..Shelf's are now full with Chinese and Japanese vases and bowls Surrender

The antique fairs were flooded with these animals, probably during the 90s
as i remember. They had deliberately applied "dirt" which you could easily wash off,
but of course made them look "vintage".
Not unpleasant items, but there are a lot of them around.
