Oriental style bowl (stapled) Empty Oriental style bowl (stapled)

Hi there, I picked this bowl up with a job lot of pottery a few years ago, I kept it because I think it's rather lovely.  It has been broken in half in the past and fixed with staples, which means that someone else treasured it very much.

There are no markings on it anywhere.  I'm not sure if it's oriental or more homegrown.  If I turn my mobile phone light on underneath it then it does shine through the material

The bowl is 16cm in diameter and stands 8cm tall.

Japanese kutani ware. Possibly late 19thC but they are still being made.
