Re: Watercolour & Frame
The frame looks older than the watercolour. It might be useful to see the back too.
The art nouveau style of the frame would date it and it could be that the frame has been hand craved in that manner. You ought to able to tell if that's the case rather than a thin layer of shaped wood glued on.
I suppose the subject matter of the work fits the same time period but in the photo it appears too bright to be 100+ years old.

The pattern is in the wood, possibly pokerwork I believe !
.
There appears to be card in the back which has the painting on , it looks as if someone may have taken the original old paper backing off !. I’ll try and remove it from the frame when I get home and photograph and post them. I bought it for the frame which I thought was Arts and Crafts !
. Only cost £4

Re: Watercolour & Frame
Yes, when I said Art Nouveau I meant Arts & Crafts too - sorry.
The frame is well worth £4. Maybe the previous owner bought it and decided when he couldn't find a period piece of art to put in it to have a go himself.
I think the drawing has a charm too.

Yes me too, love the lady sitting reading a book and the guy in the background lounging on the bench. But the frame , I just adore it, especially the little heart at the bottom
