Unusual old folded foot green goblet with prunt's???
This is a lovely little goblet it has stumped me so far i have been thinking about James Powell
for the maker as i am aware they did a range of glasses with histories i think they were known
as which were old historical designs hopefully somebody may have seen similar as i haven't been
able too. The glass has very small air bubbles trapped within like early soda type glass and rasberry
prunts and folded foot all old techniques although i don't believe it has great age..
It measures 4 1/4" tall by 2" approx Thank you for looking. :)

Re: Unusual old folded foot green goblet with prunt's???
I'm no expert on old glass but with it having what looks like a sharp pontil, a folded over footrim, very small bubbles, the glass might be older than Powell. I'm not sure if the Whitefriars catalogues are still available, i know the website went down a while back. It might be worth giving The Glass Message Board a go... http://www.glassmessages.com

Is there wear on the foot rim? I’ve bought a couple of green glass goblets which have turned out to be recent German or Eastern European pieces, made for reenactment societies

Whitefriars did use this type of prunt, up until the 1930s, but I can't see the
shape in the big book.
