Hi i recently bought this flambé plate with what looks like a cb mark - could it be by Catherine Ball? I don’t know her work but the mark looks similar... has anyone got any experience to her work?

I don’t have an example of her mark but there’s a similar one on an auction site attributed to her

Ebay attribution is decidedly dicey unless its a trusted seller whose judgement and knowledge you trust.
Looking at the Yates Own Potters marks books, the mark does not look quite right for Catherine Ball. The B is thinner and sharper, and the C is not so fat. Plus there is a line below the B.
Another possibility- and only that!- is Davina Blackstaff who had a pottery at Alkington, Berkeley in Gloucestershire..Her work was in 'red earthenware..High fired brightly coloured slip and underglaze decoration' Quote taken from the Yates Owen book.

Definately not Davina Blackstaff's mark - as there's no line between the backward D and B..

Not on eBay. It’s an Auction house listing on Invaluable

This page for Catherine Ball (need to scroll down a bit) has one very similar in glaze and decoration, though the shape is slightly different

I think that proves it for me - looking at the decoration on both they are an identical match..
