glass stirrup cup Empty glass stirrup cup

I'm hoping someone will recognise the purpose of this glass. I've done extensive searches online but not found anything like it. No foot so cannot be stood up. Thought it may be an epergne glass. Toasting glass? Ice cream glass? Apologies for photos, not sure why they are not complete! TIA
14.5cm long x 8.5cm top diameter.

I think it hangs off a punch bowl, so toasting glass gets my vote
