Anyone ever seen anything like this or have extra good vision to be able to decipher the lozenge info?

I'm thinking it's an I or a J which would be 1846-54. It would be great to be able to put a name to it.

I have got a bark jug myself, probably a different maker as it's not in any way similar, always thought it was old, just didn't know how old.

Loads of 'faux bois' pieces were made around the 1930s - usually with unidentifiable marks or just MADE IN ENGLAND stamped into their bases. I've never seen on with the Victorian lozenge or diamond mark before. It was just curiosity that made me buy it.
