bowl with tribal characters - Japanese Wayang porcelain for javabese
It had an old metal Clarks plate stand on it which i took off rather swiftly, the patent for it was Pat. No. 473080. Are registration numbers the same as pat numbers, not sure. If so the plate holder would date to 1906, so maybe this bowl is older than that, it's not a guarantee i know.
I did look on Gothoberg but didn't find any similar marks. The decoration is unusual for me at least. It is 9 1/2 inches diameter. Any ideas?

I would guess late 19thC Japanese, made for the Indonesian market
