Does seem a bit excessive
One of the marks looks like HM and may be for his Hempmill Pottery

Before Richard moved to Wales to pursue his interest in wood-firing he made porcelain yunomis and teabowls with wooded boxes on the outskirts of South London.
Examples follow:-
I don't have a close up of the seal mark on this but it would have been RH on the pink rectangle shown.
Besides the box being decorated by Richard, the teabowl was also wrapped in paper for protection with a similar painting on it.
