Fish dish with Y mark from Jersey
I wondered if anybody recognised this. Quite nicely modelled fish shaped dish with mark appearing to be Y in a circle. Would appreciate any thoughts, thanks John

By Jersey Pottery. A mark they used on figurines like this and their cats

Oh really I thought so but I wasn’t sure as found conflicting information. Thanks I’m thrilled it’s Jersey. Any idea of date.

Looks like they’re still going but I think this is from the 80s

Re: Fish dish with Y mark from Jersey
I have seen on another site same dish with information that this is Japanese imported and retailed in the Channel Islands in 1980s, I have asked Jersey about the mark as to ascertain any further information with regards to date, whether just used for souvenir items, artist identification but they have advised definately not their mark 🤷♀️. Do you think it’s is possible that the Japanese were copying items ie the ring holder cats etc. It seems far fetched to me and why export to Channel Islands? The mark is quite sophisticated (although probably moulded) usually items are marked JAPAN or have a sticker don’t they. Any thoughts😀

Re: Fish dish with Y mark from Jersey
I've split Vanman's fish off from the Jersey Pottery thread and merged it with yours as the attribution is now in doubt. I thought I had seen the same mark on one of the Jersey cats but I'm not finding any examples so I must have miss remembered.
