The tile panel sold for £820 hammer. I was outbid on my commission bid but I had a go at it. Some people might think it was a high price but I believe £1000 is about right - find another one.

I remember a charger with that design was bought by a member of the Poole collectors club around 15 years ago

This Tony Morris Purple Canada Goose was bought by the original owner for £40 in 1964. Intriguingly the 'expert' said that to earn extra money in those (Tony Morris's wage was £7 seven shillings) days, Tony Morris did these on blank Carter tiles and fired them himself. Only about a dozen of this type of panel were known.

I don't think either panel sold, the estimates weren't too high but as there were a dozen or so other TM chargers in the sale maybe there was too much choice. Also some potential bidders - i.e. me - had already spent money at W & W the day before.
