Rustic 'plate' with applied LAUREL WREATH pattern - illegible signature?

Hello again!

I picked up this 'decorative' plate the other day as I was rather intrigued by it.

I can't for the life of me make out the signature - can anyone?

A piece of old tourist tat I take it? Or maybe the work of a student?

I think it has an Italian look? The red colour seems to have been painted on, whilst the laurel wreath seems to be unglazed (?). It's rough to the touch and is just under 30cm diameter.
