It’s a modern piece. I think the mark is Chinese but I’m afraid I can’t tell Chinese and Japanese characters apart; I’m just going by the fact it’s in a square. But the vase may have been made in a factory in Taiwan or Korea. You may find the mark on the Gotheborg.com website

It is on the gotheborg site under Chinese marks. It's upside down here, but it says Da Qing Qianlong, as you thought, and 1970s or later.
