Victorian terrine? Any ideas please.
I have this lovely what I assume is a Victorian terrine which may or may not have had a lid. Does anyone recognise the pattern or able to dechiper the mark which I think is the patent mark? I don’t think I will establish the maker, it appears to have a decorators/pattern mark in red. If anyone could advise please.

It dates from 1872, and with that ridge, would have had a lid.

The tureen's shape design was first registered in 1872 but I'd say that the impressed 76 over 5 probably means that it was actually produced in May 1876. It can't even be assumed that it was printed and glazed at the same time. Dimmock could have produced plenty of pieces and then decorated and glazed as demand dictated.

Ahh yes good point. I was wondering about the 75/6 thought it could be maybe this was model 5 of 76 models that were produced or even item 5 of a 76 piece dinner service. Who knows. Thank you for your advice it’s much appreciated.
