Sweet little pot marked JP or df
Hi Folks,
This fits in my hand so well ... I like it very much ... but who made it?
I bought it in the Charente, central France.
The stamp underneath seems to be JP (which I am inclined to think is the mark) ... or 'df'.
I think this is stoneware, and, judging from the wear, it might have a bit of age to it.
It is just 2" high and the diameter is just under 3".
The lip at the top has been very well made, and is quite small ... perhaps by someone with small hands, and slender fingers? ... A woman maybe?
What do you think? Is it English, French, or another European country? ... Or is it from somewhere else?!

I would think it's European and most likely French, if you found it there.

Reality being, most small potteries have a local market. You find them in the area where they are made. Its only the really big names that transcend international boundaries, and they are a very small group indeed.
So its almost certainly French.
