Curious but clueless about this wooden box. It's open-hand sized and about 8cm high.

First thought is it contained something ceremonial to wear in the Army or by a Lord

I tracked the shield image down to the Norwegian coat of arms - looks like it might be an antique Norwegian box. Don't know what for yet.

Sorry - it's a link to an almost identical one which sold on ebay last year for £151.
There still wasn't much information about it other than date estimated to c.1900 so I've written to the Norwegian folk museum to see if they can let me know anything more about it.
