He was an apprentice to David Leach. His early Stoneshill work was very Leach school, but he changed quite radically. He never ever did this type of work, Just Google Maltby images!
There are a number of potters who use a capital M. Graham Matthews, Steve Mattison,Leo Matthews. I am sure Naomi will know.
