Post by Rochellewillow on February 17th 2019, 6:57 pm

A very interesting lady I think German but unable to find makers mark. Also has DEP used to mark German bisque dolls but I do not know what this means. Does anyone have any ideas please.

I suspect 'DEP.' is short for depose, the French registration mark, so 'S' will be the manufacturer's initial. Probably made, as you say, in Germany or Bohemia, within a decade or so of 1900.

Yes I think German as. Dep also used (deponirt) in German same thing registered design. French examples appear of a finer quality. I thought the S mark would be easily found.but Iím still head scratching.
